Offering time in the Rio de Vida Church is...well...interesting. In Latin American churches, the collection plate is generally not “passed” through the congregation. Likely “visitors” would take the opportunity to “help themselves”. In our church, people walk to the collection box and deposit their tithe or offering.
Widows, who have hungry children at home, place precious coins into the offering box. Families that live in poverty move with determination to give to the Lord. They know it is an expression of trust. Sometimes, people don’t have money, so their tithe comes in the form of ....
