Future ProjectsIn line with our vision to have seven elementary schools providing graduates for one central Christian high school, we are excited about the way that the Lord is causing His plans to unfold for the children of Guatemala.
As the only Christian school in any of these communities, we are excited about expanding our schools to include grade 1-7 over the next four years. A new classroom is planned to be added to each site every year until all of these schools has a full compliment of classes and students. Each of these facilities also will need a chapel area to accommodate the children during their morning worship time. This multi-purpose room will also enable us to minister in the evenings and on weekends in much broader capacities. We have already seen many parents in these communities accept the Lord. We fully expect a church to be planted in the “chapel” on each of these campuses.

Tactic's town council gave Impact Ministries a beautiful piece of land in the borough of Chijacorral. The first phase of the new central Vida School Campus has been built from March 2007-Dec 2008. The School was officially opened in January 2009. What a joy to see elementary and Jr High school students beginning to worship the Lord on this new ministry site. Over the next years the High School and elementary school will be expanded as phase 2 and phase 3 of the school construction are completed. This school is located on a road that heads west out of Tactic towards several mountain villages. This is an ideal place to minister to thousands of people who access the community of Tactic from this part of the municipality. The first phase of the Medical Clinic is nearing completion and is expected to be operational in July of 2009.

In the fall of 2004 Impact Ministries purchase a beautiful tract of land near the village of Chijulhá. The 14 acres of land are currently being used to grow corn, beans and vegetables for the children’s feeding program. An elementary school will eventually be build and serve two local communities. Future plans also include construction of a new church facility to accommodate the rapid growth of the Rio de Vida Church congregation. The congregation together with Impact Ministries has purchased a parcel of land that will lend itself well to this kind of development. This facility will also house a Bible training centre where local pastors and students could study. This site will be the location for a future housing complex for missionaries; short and long term. Currently, Impact Ministries is leasing houses to serve this purpose.
