The Rio de Vida Church that began as a small house church in Les and Rita Peters’ living room has now grown to three congregations

During the lockdown in Guatemala, the Rio de Vida Church is sharing the weekly service online. Join with us on Sunday at 10 am Guatemala time (8 PT, 9 MT, 11 ET, Noon AT) or stop by at any time to view the recordings.

Congregations of the Rio de Vida Church currently meet in Chamché, Mocohán, and Purulhá.

Hector Beb is head pastor of the Rio de Vida Church, and under his leadership, Pastor Maynor Toc directs the Mocohán congregation and Ervin Coy,  the Purulhá congregation. Pastor Hector provides oversight to Rio de Vida’s main congregation in Chamché.

Every six weeks the congregations worship together, either at the facility located on the Chisac property or in the villages of the outlying congregations.

Some of the Rio de Vida programs include:

  • men’s and women’s fellowships
  • youth group
  • Sunday school
  • marriage classes
  • leadership development

Each congregation is divided into cell groups which meet in locations chosen to accommodate people in their own neighbourhoods.

Rio de Vida has a School of Worship where people are learning to play instruments and training as future worship leaders. They are led by vibrant teachers who love the Lord, several of whom have trained in the National Music Conservatory in the capital.

Additionally, Impact Ministries works closely with pastors from a variety of denominations in the many mountain villages around Tactic, supporting church growth through prayer, pastoral training seminars and donations.
